Alzheimer's disease is thought to be caused by the abnormal build-up of proteins in and around brain cells. One of the proteins involved is called amyloid, deposits of which form plaques around brain cells. The other protein is called tau, deposits of which form tangles within brain cells. Alzheimer’s affects more than 3 million Americans per year. There isn’t a cure just options to slow the progression. 

Frances Kitchen was named after a beautiful spirited fun & loving woman who unfortunately passed from Alzheimer’s. Our goal is to raise awareness through selling and donating a percentage of the sales to research. The purple hue of the candle is a reminder that the fight for understanding this disease is still ongoing. We’re hopeful a cure to reverse this disease will come soon.
